The Butterfly group is for children aged 2-3 years. In this room the children begin their preparation for the Preschool group and their eventual move to ‘Big School’. In this room the children experience more and more activities that stimulate and support their individual interests and abilities. The practitioners are able to recognise when and how to extend each child’s individual development. They allow time to work with children and make observations so they can continue to add comments and photos to the children’s individual learning journey files as they support them to develop their skills and abilities. There is opportunity for the children to have a sleep if they want to in this room.
