The activities offered are planned to meet the requirements of The Foundation Stage Curriculum (see further information on this website).
The playgroups both offer morning and afternoon sessions, and also a ‘full’ day (roughly the equivalent of a school day), which helps to get children used to a longer day before they start school.
Morning sessions run from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon.
Afternoon sessions run from 12.30 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.
All day sessions run from 9.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m., and children bring a packed lunch.

Some of our parents use a combination of playgroup and nursery sessions to fit their working patterns. For example, a parent who only works for two and a half days per week may use the day nursery for two full days, and the playgroup for a morning session.

Pre-school Playgroup runs at our Ashbourne site, during term times only.
We take children from 2 years to 5 years, and children who are eligible for early years funding (all children from the term after their third birthday), can claim their funding at the playgroups.
Our playgroup staff are specifically employed and trained to work with this age range.
